Favourite drink is definitely COFFEE! Couldn’t get through mum life, running a business & still working on the salon floor without it!

Tell us a little bit about yourself? 

Hi girl gang…my names Gina & I’m the owner of Bombshell Hair. Ive lived & grown up in Canberra my whole life & I wouldn’t live anywhere else. I’m a mumma to my 2 kids, Vincent (5) & Valentina (4), wifey & salon mum to my 4 girls ❤️ I love making others feel amazing about themselves & love helping others achieve their goals & reach their full potential 

Tell us about Bombshell hair and how it came to be?

Can you believe, I had actually left hairdressing a year after I qualified & went into the public service for almost 10 years! 

Bombshell Hair started in October 2016 in the back of my garage, while I was maternity leave with my daughter. I knew the public service was never my passion. My husband knew I missed my craft & didn’t want to return to the public service, so we decided to build a tiny little salon at the back of our garage. 

From there my business just grew with the amazing support & loyalty of my clients. We renovated 3 times & eventually took over the entire garage before we once again outgrew it & opened my first salon in a commercial space in Jan 2019.

I’m a big believer in what you put out in the universe will be returned, so this is why it is an important part of our salon culture to do a lot of fundraising for the community throughout the year. 

I never in my wildest dreams thought I would open my own salon only 3 years later.  It’s been a crazy & amazing ride with highs & lows, awesome opportunities within our industry & community, beautiful new friendships made & the fact we get to go into work every day create a unique one on one & relaxed experience, help our clients feel beautiful & absolutely love what we do!

Any advice for those wanting to turn their dream into a reality?

You will be your biggest critic so don’t let fear get in the way of doing something you love. Surround yourself with people who believe in your vision, will uplift you through the hard times & celebrate the wins with you. Just go for it take the leap & choose your dreams over your fears.
