A CHAI WITH GEORGIE FROM HOLISTIC WELLBEING

What is your drink of choice?

A strong chai (with a good amount of cardamom!), or a hot cacao.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I love being in the garden, kitchen, hiking, surfing, camping or playing music. I have loved cooking since I was a kid and had a strong interest in farming, as my parents were both from farming backgrounds, which led me to studying organic agriculture, and working on small scale, regenerative farms. The first 7 years of my life I lived on the South Coast of NSW until my family moved to Canberra. I moved away not long after school (back to the coast!) and recently moved back to Canberra after living in Cape Town, South Africa for 2 years where I studied to become a certified Holistic Health Coach.

Tell us about Holistic Welbeing and how it came to be?

I started my Health Coaching business in winter of 2020 out of my passion for nutrition and mental health. I work one on one with women, guiding and supporting them holistically to regain energy and mental clarity, manage stress and anxiety, and balance hormones. I also have a special interest in supporting women in their journey through preconception preparation, pregnancy and postpartum healing.

My intention is for you to feel mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually empowered, and to guide you to awaken your innate connection with your mind, body and spirit. No two people are the same, so my approach is strongly bio-individual to help reveal lifelong habits, and to inspire you to connect with your own needs and listen to your body.

I was inspired to start my coaching business a few years after coming out of my past mental health struggles, and experiencing a life changing transformation in my energy, skin health, weight, stress management, mental clarity and self confidence. This was thanks to a deep period of self discovery, establishing daily practices to nurture my mind, body and spirit with support from my yoga mentor and transitioning to a whole food diet. I feel so fulfilled and honored to be able to now guide women to come home to themselves, and support them through their own unique and beautiful journeys.

Any advice for those who are thinking about turning their dreams into a reality?

Surround yourself with inspiring, grounded people who support your strengths and ideas. This helps so much to keep your energy fueled and to stay motivated and inspired! Also, write down your mission and intentions and check in with these goals every day – the more this inspiration infiltrates your mind, the more you will align yourself with your goals and the stronger they will manifest! If it’s something you’re deeply passionate about and get energised doing, there is nothing more fulfilling for your soul to be doing something you love. Something in common with communities living in the ‘Blue Zones’ (where residents have the longest life span) is they have a strong sense of purpose and are living true to that.
