BOSS WOMAN 107 | LUXE AND BEAU
A SOY LATTE WITH GEORGIE FROM LUXE AND BEAU
What is your drink of choice?
I would have to say my drink of choice would definitely be a soy latte. As a busy working mum with two little boys, I can’t live without my morning coffee.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My husband Norman and I have two gorgeous little boys Mac and Archie. We have a very busy little family. We are currently renovating our house which has had its challenges. I’m a very creative person constantly thinking of new products to source or a new cushion collection to release. I come from a small country town and a beautiful farm. When we aren’t crazy busy we spend our weekends hanging out at my family’s farm in the Snowy Mountains.
Tell us about Luxe and Beau and how it came to be?
I started Luxe and Beau when I was pregnant with my eldest son Mac. I was in Bali and taking some time to work out what I was going to do with my life as I didn’t want to stay in the job I was in. My Mum had the most beautiful homewares store in Cooma. I grew up merchandising, buying and styling spaces with her. Coming from a family of Entrepreneurs I knew I wanted to work for myself and use the skills I had. I studied graphic design after I finished school and had dreamt of becoming a fabric designer. Luxe and Beau was an escape for me to do something creative that I loved.
How can we support Luxe and Beau?
Follow us on instagram. Come and have a look through our store within Designer Op Shop Emporium and tell your friend about us. We have so many beautiful products arriving all the time.
Any advice for those wanting to turn their dream into a reality?
Just start. I had so many things I wanted to do and found it really difficult to conceptualise what my business was going to be. I started in cushions and now we have a huge range of products.
Don’t give up. I think a lot of people give up too soon in their businesses expecting them to “take off”. Start small, stay true to your brand and don’t give up. It takes a lot of time to build a business and a brand.
