Tell us a little bit about yourself? 

I grew up in Western Sydney and lived in Singapore for a year when I was 5 years old. In my early 20’s I moved out of home with my bestfriend, to Drummoyne (not far out of Sydney CBD). It was then that I met my husband through mutual friends and we have now been together 17 years and married 11. We have three boys together. We lived in Melbourne from 2005 – 2010 and are now in Bungendore!

Tell us about Simply Purity and how it came to be?

I started studying beauty therapy 11 years ago however my studies were put on hold due to my husband’s work and babies in between. Once my husband retired from playing professional rugby league and my boys had started school, it was time for me. I smashed through my course and started a home salon, consisting of one wax pot and a fold out massage table. Fast forward 6 years – I now have a beautiful salon in Bungendore NSW (30 minutes from Canberra), with 2 amazing therapists working for me and a lovely receptionist. We are still looking at growing!

Any advice for those wanting to turn their dream into a reality?

Keep pushing on! You’ll have good days and not so good days – keep yourself educated, don’t stop learning. The best thing I did was hire a mentor 4 years ago to guide me through running a business and financial guidance. Just recently I have invested in a business coach that specialises in beauty salons. The two combined have really helped me.
