I love a cheeky G&T but on the regular, peppermint or ginger & turmeric tea is my go to.

Tell us a little bit about yourself? 

My name is Hannah, I am 22 and grew up in Young, NSW. I moved to Canberra about 5 years ago with my partner. I have worked in the beauty industry since I was 14 and am forever upskilling and growing with the industry. I am super passionate about skin and gut health aaand killer brows of course! I run Haus of Cosmetic Tattoo as a part time business, it’s my creative outlet. For the rest of the week I am a skin specialist. I have the best of both worlds and I absolutely love it! I couldn’t have asked for a better balance in my career between my two passions.

Tell us about Haus of Cosmetic Tattoo and how it came to be?

It’s actually a funny story, I have always, ALWAYS wanted to own and run my very own business. It’s been something I have strived towards for a long time. In early August last year (2019) I was having a tattoo done with an artist I hadn’t met before, he asked me what I did for work and I told him. At this time I was working as a beauty therapist/skin technician. We got talking and he asked ‘have you ever thought about doing cosmetic tattooing?’. Cosmetic tattooing has always been something I’ve loved and I had actually had procedures done before on myself, I am a super creative person and love all things beauty and art… and tattoos. That was it. 

The next day I enrolled to become a Cosmetic Tattooist.

 I trained for a few months and in November I opened Haus of Cosmetic Tattoo. My little baby! Since then I have continued to perfect my craft and grow my business. As any new business there are always hurdles to jump over and hell, I have cried my eyes out on so many occasions! But the bad days are 110% made up for by the good days. I love helping people to feel good and to feel more confident. That’s why I do this. For you.

Spread the word baby! If you like what you see, tell the person next to you. Word of mouth is the bread and butter for how Haus of Cosmetic Tattoo is able to exist. Social media is also such a BIG part of how I am able to show you guys what I do. Follow Haus’ Instagram, I am always keeping you guys up to date on new things, sharing my work, chatting to you all and I love getting feedback from you also!

Any advice for those wanting to turn their dream into a reality?

To anyone that is thinking of turning their dreams into a reality, even if that Isn’t starting your own business, if you’re thinking of starting a new course, or moving towns, or traveling etc, my advice is to just do it! (excuse the Nike slogan).Time is of the essence and if you don’t try you’ll never know! Persevere as well! Life is sh*t sometimes but you have to know when to push harder and when to take a step back, trust your gut. And last thing.. don’t be scared to ask for help! It’s so important to have a support network. Your friends and family are so important to hold near and dear when you’re making big decisions. Canberra has an incredible network for small business owners and I can honestly say it is such a thrill to be a part of, we are all here to support each other and I think that’s beautiful.
