BOSS WOMAN 96 SOKEN BOUTIQUE

An OJ & Long black with Sofia & Mackenzie from SOKEN boutique

What is your drink of choice?

Whenever we go out for a meal or a business meeting, Sofia’s drink of choice is always a freshly squeezed orange juice whereas Mackenzie is the caffeine addict with her drink of choice being a long black.

Tell us a little bit about yourselves?

We are childhood best friends and were lucky enough to go to the same Primary school and High School, St Clare’s College graduating in 2019. We both have a passion for fashion and love the concept of hiring. The both of us are very adventurous and always love to have a good time. The both of us grew in Canberra, Sofia having 1 older brother and younger Sister and Mackenzie an Older brother. The two of us are very family orientated and try to spend as much quality time as we can. We both have always worked in hospitality making customer service a huge part of our life. We started working together in a fine dining restaurant at the age of 16 and haven’t stopped working together since. Now you can find the two of us working in a Bar and SOKEN. We love to hang out with a group of girlfriends and go for brunch, dinner dates and shopping sprees as much as we can.

Tell us about SOKEN Boutique and how it came to be?

Both Sofia and Mackenzie went to multiple formals and both had traveled to Sydney on several occasions to try and find a dress, sometimes to even traveled all that way to come home with nothing. They saw a large gap in the market in Canberra and decided now was the time to seize it. The girls had also planned to go on a gap year to Europe for three months together but as COVID-19 became more serious and their plans were cancelled they decided to use their savings to open their own business now known as SOKEN. Boutique. For anyone curious as to where the name came from the SO is from SOFIA and KEN from MACKENZIE.

How can we support SOKEN boutique?

People around Canberra can support SOKEN. Boutique by first hiring from us but also by spreading the word and telling all your friends and family about the business. Another great way of showing your support would be by following us on instagram and facebook and liking and sharing our posts.

Any advice for those wanting to turn their dream into a reality?

Turn your dreams in reality and if you do want to do something just go for it. Our dreams became reality when we finally pushed through all the hard encounters we faced and eventually got to work without ever questioning our initial decisions..
