OUR GO TO FOR A GIRLS NIGHT OUT IN THE ACT

Listen up ladies, we’re about to fill you in on the BEST places to visit on a night out with your girlfriends, right here in the nationals capital. Here at The CBR Woman we are BIG fans of a cocktail night, so, naturally we have curated a list of the best places to get your bevvy fix for your next girls night out. We are so lucky that in Canberra we have a large pool of bars and restaurants to choose from, but for today let’s start with our go – to venues.

Coming in hot at number one is, of course, the beloved Kokomo’s. Known for their tropical themed oasis and matching cocktails, you can’t go past this venue. For those of you girl gang members who enjoy a mid-week cocktail, they offer $20 cocktail jugs on Thursday nights. If you haven’t tried their famous mango weis cocktail…what are you doing?

Moving on up to something a little bit more fancy we have Tipsy Bull. Located on Lonsdale street in Braddon, this Gin bar is perfectly situated in the heart of Canberra nightlife. They make drinking fun by delivering a DIY Gin experience. Their food is also amazingly paired with whatever it is you’re sipping on that evening!

If you’re after a more casual vibe, Assembly offers ciders, beers and cocktails. Most famously, they host Canberra’s best Sunday sessions, which are always a hit. You can get an array of beverages at these events including Pimms jugs and cheap tinnies. A personal fave is the Brookvale Union Peach Iced Tea. If you’re looking for a boogie in the sun, Assembly is your go to venue.

Bridging it back to fancy, Ostani Bar is another beloved venue to grab some delish drinks and food from! This sophisticated bar is located under Hotel Realm in Barton, their garden bar is perfect for both summer afternoon or winter night cocktails , as they close up their outdoor seating area in the winter to keep you toasty and warm. Plus a little birdy told me a menu refresh is coming soon…

We can all get a little carried away when the drinks start flowing and often forget to eat dinner. This is a big no no. Amici has you covered if this is often you. Not only do they offer divine wine and cocktails, but they also offer the most delicious woodfire pizza. We are also suckers for their marble table tops and fairy lights. Talk about ambiance!

Now finally, Canberra’s newest addition to the bar and restaurant scene, Corella Bar is the latest and greatest bar to enter Lonsdale street in Braddon. This little baby is situated just across from Assembly, and may just be one of the most aesthetic bars in Canberra – great for Instagram content 😉 Corella are serving up some irresistible delights including prawn rolls with chilli mayo and Corella cherry ripe, coconut ice cream, white chocolate & milo snow. Who need’s Rick Shores…
