BOSS WOMAN 200 | BARE BY BEC

A BLOODY MARY WITH BEC FROM BARE BY BEC

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a 28 year old Canberra woman and the creator/boss-lady/artist behind BAROQUE by Bec. BAROQUE is my home décor baby that came to life at the end of last year, and I’ve recently birthed a child to BAROQUE, being BARE by Bec. BARE comprises of nudism paintings and incorporates wall art into my suite of home décor.

I am super passionate about art as not only a deep, personal expression, but also a wonderful mindfulness activity. Creating home décor and now painting my own artworks has brought me so much peace and calm through this crazy time; and in turn my bright and playful statement pieces have brought joy to others, particularly whilst they spend so much time at home.

Tell us about BARE by Bec and how it came to be?

BARE by Bec is a collection of nudism artworks; designed to undress your home. My favourite definition of nudism, and the inspiration for my paintings is “… a way of life in harmony with nature; characterised by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment”.

My nudes are a celebration of all bodies, and I absolutely love capturing the curvature of different body shapes and sizes. The perfect imperfections that make each body unique, are the details that bring my artwork to life. My original artworks can be purchased or ordered by commission. I also paint commissions for couples that are becoming increasingly popular and make for beautiful bedroom artwork.

How can we support BARE by Bec?

If nude artwork is your vibe, or something that you’re interested in checking out, you can find all the details about artwork for sale and the process for commissions on Instagram @barebybec. As an online business, sharing my work or details with friends is another awesome way to support me! And lastly, if you’ve purchased my artwork, please share photos – my favourite thing ever is to see my creations in their forever homes.

Any advice for those who are thinking about turning their dreams into a reality

My best advice is to invest (whether time, research or money) into how best to represent yourself on social media. This has been my biggest challenge! Canberra has some amazing social media experts and graphic designers who share great insights on their own social media platforms relating to how to put your best foot forward online. I find generally that the actual “doing” of bringing your dreams to life is easy enough when you’re passionate, but in a competitive marketplace nailing your social media presence is so important!
